| The Advanced Certificate in Management will appeal to aspiring individuals who wish to advance to a management position. The course will provide you with a thorough understanding of the practical problems faced by both public and private organizations, and emphasises on the practical approach to the everyday business activities. The modular facility also permits students to start the programme at any time and to take breaks at any time as long as they complete the whole modules by the maximum allowable date. |

| Module 1 – Business Management |

| This module outlines the principles of management for supervisory and managerial staff in any business environment. The module is divided into sections covering effective management, employing people, performance management, and time management. |

| Module 2 – Customer Relations |
| |
| This module outlines the importance in promoting good relations with customers and improving customer service. The module focuses on important issues such as customer care, customer care on the phone and reception skills, which are vital for every successful organization. |

| Module 3 - Business Planning |
| |
| This module outlines the importance of planning within a business environment. Planning a new venture or expansion from the first principles to financial forecasts is comprehensively covered in this module with a particular and interesting section on how to start one’s own business. |

| Module 4 – Extended Essay |
| |
| The students will be required to prepare an extended essay on any related topic. The extended essay will highlight what the students have studied during the year and will consolidate their knowledge by turning their knowledge to practical use. The extended essay should be of not more that 4,000 words. Students are also encouraged to present a topic which is related to their current workplace thus making it an interesting assessment for both the student and his/her respective employer. |

| The programme is assessed by an assignment for each module together with an extended essay for module 4. |

| Duration of Programme |

| A minimum of one academic year and a maximum of three academic years for the whole programme. |

| Entry Requirements |

| School leaving certificate or equivalent or an acceptable level of education coupled with a number of years of experience. |

| Fees: 6500 Euro per year. |

| Intakes: March and October |

| Living Expense: 200- 300 Euro per month. |

| Students who obtain the Advanced Certificate in Management are eligible for the Diploma in Management programme and will benefit from an exemption of the Business Planning module in the Diploma syllabus |
